Key Resources

Business Canvas: This will help make sure you cover all of the bases that an investor will be looking for while validating your business for the open market. If you have trouble filling out one of these boxes, you may need to rethink things a bit! Don’t forget, simply filling this out is a starting point – entrepreneurs who successfully impress judges and investors go above and beyond what you see here.

Innovator’s Canvas: Another tool to help you map out your concept while navigating potential pitfalls, brand concepts, value propositions, and the like. Consulting this tool from the start will help you iterate your idea on day 1. You want to hone your idea and work out as many kinks from the start gate – if you don’t you may find yourself pivoting (drastically changing your idea) late in the game. IF YOU DO FIND YOURSELF PIVOTING… DON’T PANIC – this is one of biggest lessons that Ramp Up Weekend can teach you: Although letting go is hard, it usually leads to something much stronger.

Timing Guideline: Be sure to consult this guide (created by CEO guru Andriy Rudnyk) to make sure your team is on track!

Additional Resources: Check out the links below to read some articles about entrepreneurship, business building, and presentation.

Lesson 1: Pick your team carefully – passion, alignment of goals, and complementary skillsets are keys to success

Lesson 2: Execution and team are everything – don’t worry if you don’t have a new idea.

Lesson 3: Confidence and a great pitch go a long way.

Lesson 4: Know what kind of founder you want to be – this will help you design your exit strategy, for both yourself and your investors.
